Ride Out in support of Fallen Heroes - Sunday 18th April 2010

A number of the Northern Ireland Bangor Section VJMC lads and a couple of friends congregated in Ballygowan Square for a ride out on Sunday 18th April.

First stop was the Fallen Heroes MCC Bike Safely Awareness Open Day which featured a Bikesafe event and race bike display at Comber Fire Station. All proceeds from food sales went to a fund for the families of two firemen who recently lost their lives in England.

We enjoyed a chat with Chris (Bangor & 30s Club) and also met Nick Moore who webmasters www.RideTheWildWind.co.uk. I recommend you pay a visit (link on our site).

After a coffee and a bun we set off for a run around the Ards peninsula. Our route took us through Millisle & Ballywalter on the way to Ballyhalbert where we stopped to take in the view and watch a jet ski in action.

Refreshed, most of us headed to Portaferry for chips. Outside the cafe we met up with two guys on trikes. It wasn’t long before Brian had the run down on the types of engines in the machines (Beetle and 2CV), he even discovered that one of the riders was a former member of the Bangor Section.

When Brian was being served I thought the girl knew him by the way she was talking to him. Turned out she was only repeating his order – “Small Fry”.

When we were leaving Billy said he would like to own a trike. Brian reckoned he would settle for one of their hats.

Hope you enjoy the photos ...
