Ballygowan Fun Festival, Monday 14th June 2010 |
|
The biennial Ballygowan Fun Festival was held in Ballygowan town centre on Monday evening, 14th June 2010.
The occasion was brought to our attention by town resident Billy and we all agreed the Northern Ireland VJMC Bangor Section would like to support the local community event.
The evening was really quite informal with members riding there on a classic machine and parking in our designated display area in the square. We were once again fortunate to have a beautiful, warm sunny evening to enjoy a catch-up with friends and to take in the varied street entertainment.
Let me introduce you to a few of the lads (apologies if I missed taking your photo).
It was good to see Geoff could make it as he and Alan were not long back from their trip to the Isle of Man TT Races.
No, that wasn’t Billy cleaning the SR 500, it was actually Brian. I can only imagine that Stephen was supervising him.
And the two guys in the yellow jackets, two learner riders? No, none other than Tommy and Eddie trying their hand at a bit of marshalling.
If nothing else our bikes were clean and in safe hands.
 Set 1/3
It was great to see a number of bikes being displayed for the first time. All credit to the guys.
There were also a few race machines on display, a Honda Dream 50, a 1931 250cc Rudge Works Racer and a locally sponsored Kawasaki raced by Michael Pearson.
There was also a very impressive display of classic cars (even a few classic tractors).
 Set 1/8
As you can see from the final set of photos, there really was quite a diverse range of activities aimed at entertaining all age groups.
A collection on the night was in aid of Help for Heroes.
