Temple 100 Road Race Classic Parade Laps, Thursday 30th June 2011 |
|
The Temple and District Vintage & Classic Club held "An Evening of Nostalgia" on Thursday 30th June. Well in excess of 100 vintage and classic motorcycles assembled in Andrews Yard on the outskirts of Saintfield in Northern Ireland for a static display followed by 2 parade laps of the famous Temple 100 Road Race course.
The VJMC Bangor Section was very well represented at the event but as usual I ended up with very few pictures of club members. On the positive side; I did manage to get photos of most of the bikes.
We were all intrigued to see Drew’s 1944 Indian (yes, I know this is a vintage Japanese website but we all appreciate items of beauty).Geoff thought the bike near perfect – it just needed to be red. In fairness Drew did have a good excuse for it being green, the bike had seen service with the British Army in the Second World War and was presented in its original colours.
We all enjoyed a warm sunny evening’s entertainment, parking up again after the parade laps for a chat and something to eat from the Burger Van. The following photos show the diversity of machines which took part.
Donations in lieu of an entry fee and a collection on the night was in aid of the N.I. Children's Hospice.
